News: Top 5 Flight Tracking Web Sites
Posted by Matthew Justice on Mar 5, 2008Between the airlines and other sites there are many choices when it comes to on-line flight tracking. It appears that each of these services have their pros and cons. Thankfully the good people at MakeUseOf.com have broken 5 of them down for your convenience.
They reviewed FBOWeb, FlightStats, FlightView, FlightAware, and FlyteComm, plus Google as bonus site.
One nice thing that most of these sites have in common is the fact they can track not only airline flight, but also IFR flights. Just enter the tail number of the airplane that you are wanting to track and as long as a (IFR) flight plan has been filed it will show up in the database.
As far as the mobile realm goes, I have also found that Google and FlightStats.com have the option to view their sites on a mobile device.
