PCAvionics is Now Offering a Ready To Fly Moving Map Package...

PCAvionics announced a new, ready-to-fly moving map package along with a new product line of panel-mounted instrumentation, dubbed "yourGlassPanel."

Based on an HP Travel Companion (iPAQ rx5915) with a built-in GPS receiver, the company installs its best-selling MountainScope moving-map software for aviation and TomTom Navigator for streets.

"This package offers affordable street and aviation mapping in a single device, and includes capabilities for weather, traffic and the best terrain on the market," stated Todd Sprague, president of PCAvionics.

The company's new instrument offerings feature standard dials as well as full EFIS displays, and are available for standard 2-1/4-inch and 3-1/8-inch panel holes. A single instrument can display any number of different dials and can be changed with the flick of a switch. For under $10,000, according to the company, a six-pack of "yourGlassPanel" instruments would offer six-way redundancy on the displays, plus two-way redundancy on the sensor packages.
