News: Homemade Helicopter Made By Student in Nigeria
Posted by Matthew Justice on Nov 2, 2007This is another example of how creative people can be. A 24-year-old physics undergraduate from Nigeria has made a homemade helicopter. The helicopter was made from old cars and motorbikes plus many other pieces from the back yard.
“It took me eight months to build this one,” said Mubarak Muhammad Abdullahi.
It is powered by a second-hand 133 horsepower Honda Civic car engine, the seats are from an old Toyota car, and other parts come from a Boeing 747 which crashed near Kano some years ago.
He said he learned the rudiments of flying a helicopter from the Internet and first got the idea of building one from the films he watches on television.
