Photo: Hold Found In Engine on Southwest Plane
Posted by Matthew Justice on Nov 28, 2007About 30 minutes into flight a Southwest Airlines plane from Dallas Love Field, enoroute to Little Rock (LIT) encountered vibration coming from the right (#2) engine on the 737. After shutting down the engine the pilot decided to return to the Love Field airport. Upon landing they noticed a large-ish hole in the engine. Investigators are looking into the cause, but Southwest has sent a letter to every passenger explaining exactly what happened.
Brandy King, a spokeswoman for Southwest Airlines says “our pilot did notice a vibration in right engine. He followed procedures and shut down that engine and land the aircraft back at Dallas Love Field”.
The NTSB is investigating.
