News: EasyJet Launches New Boarding Card
Posted by Matthew Justice on Mar 14, 2008EasyJet has launched a membership card designed to allow unlimited use of its Speedy Boarding option at 30+ airports.
The new card is known as easyJet Plus and costs £75 ($151) for a year and offers unlimited priority boarding as well as the use of Speedy Boarding Plus that allows passengers to check-in at priority desks. According to the article after five return (round-trip) flights the card will become cost-effective.
EasyJet says it is also planning to offer other membership benefits in the near future that could include discounted car hire, travel insurance deals and hotel rates. The £75 membership card rate is available until 30 April this year, after which the cost will rise to £100.
Seems like a good idea to me, slightly steep in price, but I could see it be a success for some of the U.S. low-cost carriers such as JetBlue and Southwest.
