News: Wi-Fi Usage Surges After Denver International Switches To Free Ad Supported
Posted by Matthew Justice on Dec 18, 2007Denver International Airport (DEN) has switched from a paid model to a free model. I think that every airport should offer free Wi-Fi to all customers.
According to a posting found on The World is My Office blog by Mike Elgan “The airport threw a switch about a month ago, and transformed its for-pay airport-wide Wi-Fi into a free, advertiser-supported service. Overnight, without promotion, usage increased tenfold (now 7,000 to 8,000 connections per day).
Best of all, the network may be the first in the U.S. with 802.11n Draft 2.0 capability.”
