News: American Airlines Adds Mobile Check-In
Posted by Matthew Justice on Jan 31, 2008American Airlines passengers can now check-in for their flights with a mobile phone or PDA using a mobile-friendly version of the aa.com website.
Currently, customers can also use the mobile-friendly site to see their itinerary, check schedules, check the status of their flights, get information on destinations, check weather and contact American Airlines.
Later this spring, the site will allow travelers to book flights, change their reservations, view fare specials, request upgrades and enroll in American's frequent flier program. The system will be available in both English and Spanish. When accessing aa.com using a mobile device, the design is simplified to make it easier to navigate on a mobile device.
Dallas-based Southwest Airlines has a similar service for two years. Southwest's system allows passengers to check-in, cancel boarding passes, and get information about the airline and its policies.
